SUN DAMAGE
Now recognised as one of the biggest problems facing us today. UVA and UVB rays are quickly becoming one of the most talked about issues.. Overexposure to these harmful sun rays can cause various types of damage that don't appear overnight, but will be seen in years to come. These effects include facial fine lines and deep wrinkles, brown patches, pigment changes, sun spots (age spots) poor skin tone and texture, spot breakouts, enlarged pores and roughness to the skin. More seriously the sun can cause such conditions as pre-cancerous skin lesions.
Sunburns and suntans appear instantly, but with time, the skin slowly begins to show the latter signs of photodamage called photoaging. This photoaging occurs when the skin's connective tissues weaken and cause sagging, wrinkling and visible imperfections in the surface of the skin. Many sunscreens do not offer broad spectrum protection so will only protect you from UVB rays, which are the burning rays.
We must all become more aware of the dangers of the sun; ultimately ageing is the best case scenario of what damage the sun is capable of doing.
