How Does Lumenis One Work?
Lumenis One delivers a special range of wavelengths of light in customizable pulses through a sapphire tip gently onto your skin. The light is absorbed either superficially by broken capillaries and dark pigment or deeper by larger vessels and collagen. Dilated capillaries coagulate, pigmented lesions darken and then slough off and new collagen fibers are laid down, giving the skin a renewed and more youthful appearance.
How is Skin Rejuvenation Performed?
A cold gel is usually applied to the area to be treated, and you may be given dark glasses or goggles to protect your eyes from the bright light. The smooth, cold surface of the Lumenis One IPL handpiece is gently touched to your skin and pulses of light are applied. You may feel a slight stinging like the napping of a rubber band. Each treatment typically takes about 20-30 minutes. In general, excellent long term results can usually be achieved with a series of four to six treatments.
What Areas Can Be Treated?
Skin Rejuvenation with the Lumenis One system can be used to treat any area of the body.
The most common areas are the face, neck, chest and hands.
At Claremont Skin Clinic a one hour consultation is required prior to any IPL treatment, during which the procedure can be fully explained and questions answered. A patch test will be performed and a medical questionnaire completed. The consultation fee is £35 and will be carried out by a specialist trained Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner.
